the itinerary

DAY ONE – settle in + soak it up

  • Arrive at Tri Lanka and get ready for a week of sustainable Sri Lankan goodness to stimulate your body, mind and soul!
  • Kick off is at 2:00pm: Meet Dani and her co-host, Dani Glasser
  • Settle into your incredibly romantic room and wander down to our welcome afternoon tea to sample some Sri Lankan specialities
  • Sip on sunset cocktails overlooking the stunning Lake Koggala before  taking a seat at our welcome dinner – a delectable six course feast of wholesome foods prepared by Tri’s chefs

DAY TWO – explore the village + keep it local

  • Rise to the sounds of the local birds and eat breakfast (a mix of local specialities and a host of healthy options)
  • Explore the local villages and area on a guided bike tour where people smile and laugh as you peddle past and get a taste of what real life is like in Sri Lanka (or if cycling is not your thing you can travel in style by tuk tuk!)
  • Tuck into a nourishing buffet lunch back at the hotel
  • Visit the aromatic Cinnamon Island by boat to learn about how this delicious and important spice is grown, meet and greet the farmer and his family, savour some hot cinnamon tea
  • Re-centre with a calming Vinyasa Flow yoga class with a touch of spice 
  • Share stories over your evening cocktail before eating dinner like a local with authentic Sri Lankan curries and rice made of fresh, organic, seasonal ingredients on offer

DAY THREE – cook up a sri lankan feast + cacao ceremony 

  • Wake up your body with a private yoga class in the shala
  • Nibble on a light breakfast to leave room for the lunchtime feast and cookfest
  • Dip into Dani’s cooking Spice Masterclass – with a focus on spice and incorporating local flavours into dishes you can cook back home. Sample some dishes the Dalai Lama loved!
  • The afternoon is yours to roam and relax – chill out at the resort, take a dip in the infinity pool, lounge around with a book or enjoy some tranquil spa serenity
  • Cap off the day with a sunset cocktail and bask in the relaxed twilight vibes
  • Dinner at the Tri – from lake to table and garden to plate, this 6-course menu will be one to remember (as always)
  • Awaken your senses with a cacao whole food dessert class led by Dani that’s sure to treat your tastebuds!

DAY FOUR – sand, sea + sunshine

  • Get your body moving with our ritual morning Hatha Yoga class
  • Munch on a 5-course breakfast menu to fill up for the day ahead
  • Tuk tuk time! Trot out to the tumbling tea plantations to see where the world’s best tea is grown and enjoy a tea tasting session on our way to the laidback luxury of Mirissa beach
  • Bliss out at Mirissa with a chilled coconut drink (or cocktail) in hand, roam the beach, get barefoot in the sand and swim in the sea
  • Gather back for a fresh seafood beach BBQ lunch with an abundance of local seafood you will never forget!
  • Watch the sun go down over the shimmering water later on with a cool cocktail in hand as you chatter about the day
  • Return back to the Tri for a dinner of contemporary and creative dishes with the Wholehearted crew

DAY FIVE – bliss day

Bliss days are always a favourite on our retreats because it’s a day all about you – you can choose to do whatever you want! Take it as easy as you like. Here’s some of the things you can do:

  • Sleep in for as long as you like!
  • Yoga class 
  • Relaxing one hour massage 
  • Guided meditation led by Dani 
  • Take a dip in the incredible infinity pool whilst staring out at Lake Koggola with new friends
  • Light lunch buffet style – you can take this to your room, eat in or come and go as you please (no set time or agenda)
  • Sundowner cocktails and fresh Sri Lankan fusion food for dinner (think gourmet rice and curries: food and drink really is the highlight at the Tri)

DAY SIX – explore the city of Galle

Spend the day exploring the historic town Galle, a special place in the heart of Sri Lankan culture.

  • Get that morning glow with a reviving yoga class and nourishing breakfast before the cultural city tour of Galle begins
  • Set out to see the historic fortress in this 16th century walled city by the sea, wander through through the UNESCO open air museum, saunter through splendid mansions and experience the incredible history of this fascinating world heritage site
  • The perfect place for a spot of souvenir shopping and gifts, exploring the fort and watching locals backflip into the ocean
  • Make it a night to remember back at the Tri with our last dinner at the Tri 

DAY SEVEN – time to go (departure)

  • Join one final yoga class with a focus on pre-flight Yin Yoga that will leave you feeling amazing on your journey home and breakfast before we leave this natural oasis
  • Dive into some mindset rituals to take home with you so the wellness lifestyle continues
  • Depart our destination and head home with Sri Lankan stories to tell and magical memories to last a lifetime
